Preparation notes:

• Use pure or plain water as the mixing base. Mad Farmer’s directions specify pure water as the diluent for Detox. Using water already containing nutrients partially defeats the purpose of a flush application. If your tap or well water has elevated EC, use RO or filtered water for the flush solution.
• Adjust pH after mixing. Add Detox to your mixing water, shake or stir, then check and adjust pH before applying to plants. Do not adjust pH before adding Detox and assume pH is unchanged.
• Shake Detox concentrate before measuring. As noted on the product label, shake the bottle well before each use to ensure even distribution of the formulation.
• During the pre-harvest window, replace nutrient feedings entirely with Detox solution. The 7–10 day pre-harvest flush is not applied as a supplement alongside nutrients. Standard nutrient feedings are stopped, and the Detox solution replaces them for the full pre-harvest window. The objective is to clear accumulated salts from the root zone and substrate before harvest.
• Monitor plant response during the flush. During the pre-harvest flush, some yellowing of lower leaves is expected as plants mobilize nutrients internally. Significant wilting or sudden decline during the flush may indicate a pH problem with the flush solution or an unrelated environmental issue. Check pH first before adjusting the Detox dose.
• Volume estimate for 1-gallon concentrate: At 5 ml per gallon of water, a 1-gallon bottle of Detox (approximately 3,785 ml) is sufficient for approximately 757 gallons of flush solution. How to Apply Mad Farmer Detox

The following steps apply across all growing media. The system-specific differences are noted where they occur. “Flush solution” refers to the prepared Detox + water mixture.

1. Confirm you have the correct application window. Detox can be applied as a periodic mid-cycle flush or as a pre-harvest flush. For pre-harvest: confirm your plants are within 7–10 days of your planned harvest date. For periodic maintenance: consult your runoff EC readings or your scheduled flush frequency. Do not apply Detox during active high-dose nutrient feeding events; it is a flush product, not a supplement.
2. Gather your supplies. You will need: Mad Farmer Detox concentrate, pure or RO water, a measuring syringe or teaspoon, a pH meter, pH adjustment solution (up and down), a mixing container, and your delivery method (watering can, reservoir, or pump). Do not use tap water with elevated EC as the mixing base; the flush solution should have a low baseline EC before adding Detox.
3. Shake the Detox bottle before measuring. Invert and shake the concentrate several times before measuring your dose. This ensures the active ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the liquid.
4. Measure and add Detox to your water. Measure 5 ml (1 tsp) per gallon of pure water for standard flushes, or 5–10 ml per gallon for the pre-harvest flush window. Add the Detox concentrate to your mixing water, not the reverse. Stir or swirl to incorporate.
5. Adjust pH. Test the prepared flush solution with a calibrated pH meter. Adjust pH to 5.5–6.2 for hydroponic systems or 6.0–6.8 for soil and coco coir. Use small increments of pH adjustment solution, stirring and retesting between additions. Apply only after pH is within range.
6. Apply by system type:
   • Hydroponics: Fill your reservoir with the prepared flush solution and run the system for one to two hours. After the run cycle, drain the reservoir completely. Rinse with plain water before resuming standard nutrient feeding.
   • Soil / Coco: Apply the flush solution by drenching the container until solution flows freely from the drainage holes. This ensures the flush solution has passed through the entire substrate profile and carried accumulated salts with it. Allow to drain fully before the next application.
7. Check runoff or drain EC. If you have an EC meter, measure the runoff or drain EC after applying Detox. A notable drop in runoff EC compared to pre-flush readings indicates the flush is removing accumulated salts. If runoff EC remains elevated after the first application, a follow-up flush at the next scheduled watering may be warranted.
8. For pre-harvest flush: continue for the full 7–10 day window. Replace all nutrient feedings with Detox solution for the entire pre-harvest period. Apply on the same schedule you would normally water, using the Detox flush solution in place of nutrient-fed water. Do not add base nutrients or additives during this window.
9. Resume standard feeding or harvest. After a mid-cycle flush, allow the substrate to approach its normal moisture level before resuming your standard nutrient feeding program. Resume at your established EC target. For pre-harvest flush, proceed with your planned harvest after the flush window is complete.
10. Store remaining concentrate properly. Keep the Detox bottle sealed, away from direct sunlight and temperature extremes. Shake before each subsequent use session. Check the bottle label for any manufacturer-specific storage conditions relevant to the batch.
